    Mark Matchett, Manager for Road and Automotive

    Mark has had a career spanning some 20 years in the manufacturing sector before working for Cummins Engine Co, followed by a number of SMEs working in diesel emission control technologies.Most recently he worked for for The Hardstaff Group, specialists in methane-diesel dual fuel technologies for HD diesel power applications. He has a broad knowledge of the road and automotive sector, with a specific interest in alternative fuels and low carbon technologies.     Susan Perriam, Manager for Rail

    After working in a manufacturing research team, Susan moved into the development and delivery of ICT across the UK and EMEA for major global industry players and clients. Most recently, she spent several years at Network Rail in Asset Management and Transport for London in Innovation Management where she oversaw the trial and assessment of dozens of products and prototypes designed to improve engineering performance.     With over 25 years experience as a Director's PA, Gaynor has an all-round knowledge of running a department. For the 10 years before joining the KTN in 2011, she worked in both the Vehicle Design Department and the Advanced Technology Department of Ove Arup and Partners Limited.  Gaynor provides administrative assistance for events, the website and the Transport team.     Ian's background is in marketing, research and business development across many industries both in the UK and abroad.  He has 15 years experience within marine / maritime sectors, initially at the UK Hydrographic Office - navigational data and electronic charting systems for defence, commercial shipping and leisure – and then (before joining the KTN) in private consultancy on projects as diverse as marine spatial data, navigational equipment and services, pontoons, dynamic positioning systems, weather routing / voyage optimization services. Chair of the Transport KTN

We are delighted to welcome Lord Alec Broers as Chair of the Transport KTN. Lord Broers has a strong research background, having dedicated almost 20 years of his life to R&D with IBM in the US. He is a passionate advocate of technology, delivering a series of the world-famous Reith Lectures on the Triumph of Technology in 2005. Lord Broers was Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University between 1996 and 2003 and Chairman of the House of Lords Select Committee for Science and Technology from 2004 to 2007.  He is presently a member of the Select Committee.  When he has any spare time, he enjoys sailing around the south coast of England, and recently sailed across the Atlantic.
