KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from sustainability to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Fill in a short survey to help us help you!

The Technology Strategy Board, the UK’s innovation agency, is all about driving innovation to help UK businesses grow.

Their role is to stimulate technology-enabled innovation in the areas which offer the greatest scope for boosting UK growth and productivity. They promote, support and invest in technology research, development and commercialisation. They spread knowledge, bringing people together to solve problems or make new advances.

Stimulating UK Business Innovation

The Technology Strategy Board has long recognised the value of helping business access the latest knowledge on markets and technologies, find supply chain partners, and facilitate routes to funding to stimulate UK business innovation. They have invested in Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs) - such as this one in Transport - for this purpose since their inception in 2007.

However, they also recognise that the pace of technological change is rapid and that the way people find information and connections looks different from that in 2007. They wish to deploy their resources where it will make the biggest difference and ensure there is no duplication with other organisations. It is, therefore, reviewing the way it supports the services currently provided by the KTNs.

How do you do yours?

This is where you come in – they want to know what organisations you and your business turn to for advice, knowledge and connections to drive innovation in your business. They would like to know what you are looking for, what organisations you are currently engaged with and why. How do you use the new tools that are available, including the Technology Strategy Board’s own tool _connect?

Help us to help you

The Technology Strategy Board will use this information to help us to continue to provide our service, so if you run or work for a private business of any size, please help us shape what we can offer to help your business.

To do this, simply take five minutes to fill in the brief survey. All entrants will be in with a chance to win a Google Nexus 7 phone.
