KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from sustainability to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Harnessing Data for Transport - Half Day Workshop

WORKSHOP NOW BEING HELD ON THE MORNING OF THE 21ST SEPTEMBER 2010.

Technology is one of the key ways of ensuring transport continues to develop against a background of restricted resources e.g. cutbacks.  Transport applications for traffic management, customer information, and traffic planning/modelling, are placing increasing demands on data - effective use of data is therefore of strategic importance to the industry with the potential to transform transport services and operations.

The TKTN is working with the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to launch an initiative on harnessing data in transport to provide a timely focus for cross-sector (Road, Rail, Marine) activities, and to exploit emerging market opportunities.

This half day interactive workshop will bring together a broad mix of participants to share knowledge to determine the market opportunities and implications for the provision of public and private sector transport data. It will draw on the collective experience and expertise of the participants to explore commercial models, outline the technical architectures/requirements, and support the development of a dynamic community to exploit the opportunities and help identify where funding could help plug the "white space".

As we have had to reschedule this event, we have been able to secure a larger room and consequently now have a couple of spaces available.   If you feel you have something to offer and would like to attend, please contact  Tessa Darley on 01865 338 409 outlining your interest.

Nick Bromley has decided with the combination of the uncertainty regarding travel, and the predicted bad weather, that this event will be postponed until the morning of the 21st September. Apologies for the late postponement.
