A little more about Tim...
My expertise is in project management and mathematical modelling. I am particularly interested in the development of modelling frameworks to support decision-making under uncertainty.
As a programme manager for the Industrial Mathematics KTN, I was recently responsible for the successful delivery of the Underpinning Defence Mathematics (UDM) programme. I am currently (Q4 2011) interested in developing new contacts with energy companies interested in stochastic modelling and anyone concerned with best practice in natural hazard risk modelling, as part of the industrial outreach activities of LANCS and PURE.
I joined the Smith Institute for Industrial Mathematics and System Engineering in 2002 from the paper industry where I worked for three years as a diagnostic engineer at ArjoWiggins. Previously, I studied at the universities of Warwick (pure maths, BSc), Southampton (industrial maths, MSc) and Manchester (maths and paper science, PhD).
