Are you interested in opportunities for innovation in greenhouses and polytunnels?

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is holding a free one-day event to bring together different sectors including end users of glasshouses and polytunnels, with innovators from materials, lighting, energy, robotics and ICT.

The aim is to identify innovation opportunities, increase efficiency and help to find new solutions for the challenges the industry faces.

Innovation in Greenhouses and Polytunnels: Cross-sectoral Opportunities
11th November 2015, London

Both greenhouses and polytunnels are becoming increasingly important for the UK’s food supply. This is an area where cross-sectoral collaboration could play a crucial role in future innovations, so a key element of this event will be the creation of new connections leading to collaborative projects.

The final programme is still to be confirmed but speakers will include:

  • Large scale users of greenhouses and polytunnels - such as large scale protected edibles growers, who will describe their challenges requiring new innovative solutions

  • Technology providers from a number of disciplines - with new technologies relevant to the sector

  • Funders - Innovate UK - who will describe current Innovate UK funding opportunities to progress new project ideas identified

There will also be plenty of networking opportunities.

Who should attend?

  • End users of glasshouses and polytunnels
  • Innovators from materials, lighting, energy, robotics and ICT
