Innovate UK indicated in its Delivery Plans for 2014-15, the launch of a funding competition for smart materials.

The Knowledge Transfer Network, in support of Innovate UK, organised and delivered a workshop and a webinar to provide the opportunity for developers and users of Smart Materials to contribute to the scope of the forthcoming call which will seek to find out how UK industry can benefit from the use of smart materials by overcoming key innovation challenges to manufacture.

The workshop, held on 9th September 2014, saw introductory presentations as follows:

Following the workshop a webinar was held on 8th October for the benefit of those who were unable to attend the workshop but wanted to input to the scope of the call.
