Symposium on Humanoid Robotics

Following on from the very successful events in 2009 and 2010, the 3rd IET International Symposium on Humanoid Robotics will be hosted in Manchester on 8-9 December 2011.  The event will run over 8 sessions, each consisting of an introductory keynote lecture, followed by 3 peer reviewed papers. The aim is to provide a lively atmosphere for exchange between young researchers and international experts. Once again, the Symposium is supported by the IET, IIT (Genoa), the Italian Embassy and the CICADA project.

Topics of interest include:

  • Mechatronic design including hardware, communication, etc
  • System architecture & software
  • Cognition and learning
  • Manipulation including end-effectors, grasping, planning and touch
  • Locomotion and control
  • Sensing & speech
  • Power, actuation & compliance
  • Safety & human friendly interaction
  • Applications including industrial and service robots
