Japan Robotics Mission Announced

The UK-JP CHARM network together with the British Embassy in Tokyo is in the planning stages of a week-long mission to Japan to take place from October 17 -  21, 2011.  This visit will be fully or partially funded.

We are considering the following activities for the visit:

  •  A seminar at the British Embassy with a wide Japanese audience
  • Visits to relevant Government organisations
  • Visits to companies and research centres
  • Research workshop(s) to be held at the Embassy

If you are interested in being involved please could you contact me, or post comments on this blog with the following information:

  • Themes of interest that you would like to collaborate on with Japanese parties. These can be particular applications, wider industrial areas or particular technical areas of robotics.
  • Companies, research centres and organisations (or types of) that you would like to visit.
  • Thoughts on workshop themes.
  •  Any other thoughts or ideas regarding a robotics mission to Japan.

Providing as detailed information as possible at this stage will allow us to narrow down the scope of the mission and contact the right organisations in Japan. A programme from a previous mission to Japan in 2009 is available for download in the documents section.
