Invitation to UK nuclear decommissioning companies to participate in RADIEX 2013

Invitation to UK companies offering nuclear decommissioning products and solutions to participate in the UK stand at the Radioactive Decontamination and Radioactive Waste Disposal International Exhibition (RADIEX) 2013 in Tokyo on 25th-27th September 2013.

To register your interest, please contact Andrew Thomas at by Friday 31st May 2013.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in Tokyo, working alongside relevant trade organisations, are organising a UK stand once again this year at RADIEX 2013.

Through a number of events and meetings, UKTI have raised the profile of the UK nuclear industry over the past two years.  As a result, there is significant interest in UK nuclear capability in a number of areas, most notably nuclear decommissioning and waste management. This has particular emphasis due to the events in 2011 at the Fukushima Daiichi plant which has resulted in a need for nuclear clean-up and decommissioning services.

RADIEX 2013, with its theme of ‘Assembling the Knowhow of the World to Optimise and Accelerate Decontamination’, will be a good opportunity to further raise and market the strength of the UK’s technologies in the nuclear decommissioning sector. It is a very popular exhibition (there were 10,450 visitors last year) and will be attended by all of the key nuclear stakeholders, including manufacturers, trading companies and government organisations.

Benefits of exhibiting

  • Access to key Japanese contacts:  A unique opportunity to meet major nuclear stakeholders in Japan for visiting UK companies.  UKTI will also provide contact information of stand visitors (who agree to disclose their details) for those who send their literature and samples.
  • Showcase your products/services:  UKTI will distribute your literature and/or display your samples at a manned stand for 3 days.
  • Generate publicity for your company: Pre-show publicity for your company in Japan to over 300 existing UKTI contacts, and publicity via the official show website.
  • Logistic support: Provision of on-stand interpretation for visiting UK companies.
  • A springboard to Japan:  Meet the UKTI Tokyo’s nuclear specialist and learn about market opportunities.

How to take part

There are a number of ways of taking part in the UK stand at RADIEX 2013.

  • Level 1: Send some leaflets
  • Level 2: Send some samples
  • Level 3: Turn up on the UK stand and have a small display

Each of these will involve a different level of cost, which will be in the region of £390-£975 (+VAT), depending on the level of participation.

Should you wish to attend independently with your own stand, please still get in contact with UKTI so that they can highlight your attendance to their network of contacts.

In order to judge the level of interest in these options, please respond to, indicating which level of attendance you are considering by Friday 31st May 2013.  This is not a firm commitment at this stage, however UKTI need to inform the organisers of the approximate size of booth to reserve for them.
