Much of the capability required to underpin the development of RAS technologies is fragmented across academia, industry and multiple business sectors.
Addressing this is crucial to realising a vision for the future and will require building an integrated community of entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, investors and potential end users, and identifying practical work programmes.
The SIG's aim is to support this through networking and investor events and initiatives to connect researchers and industry, as well as online dialogue, debate and dissemination through the Technology Strategy Board's innovation platform '_connect'. Work has begun on a community map to aid the UK's RAS innovators in finding the capabilities and collaborations they require to build world-class products and solutions.
The SIG is also planning a series of workshops to engage the general public, to build trust and provide innovators with an understanding of the perception of RAS technologies outside the technological sphere.
