Robot hand KTN helped bring to new markets catches Queen’s attention

Her Majesty the Queen was photographed yesterday admiring a cutting-edge robot hand on display at the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) stand at the International Festival for Business 2016 (IFB2016).
Before formally opening the Exhibition Centre Liverpool, the Queen and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, visited a number of stands at IFB2016. The Queen’s attention was caught by a robot hand, which was developed by the Shadow Robot Company — a company that designs and manufactures state-of-the-art anthropomorphic robot hands and related systems.
In recent years, KTN has helped the Shadow Robot Company build partnerships with a number of organisations that will benefit from its innovative robotics technology. Networking at numerous KTN events introduced it to other pioneering companies from a variety of sectors. The resulting collaborations allowed its technology to benefit from over £1.5m from various funding opportunities and broaden its applications.
KTN also supported the company on a Robotics and Autonomous Systems Mission to California, and provided the opportunity to speak directly with UK policy makers.
