Privacy implications of mobile apps for children

The US Federal Trade Commission has released a report that details the results of a survey of mobile apps for children.

The survey shows that neither the app stores nor the developers provide the information parents need to determine what data is being collected from their children, its security or the potential uses.

If you've not been following it: Carrier IQ is apparently an application installed on many smartphones that tracks user interactions - primarily to improve the user experience, but with rather obvious privacy implications.
