Privacy implications of mobile apps for children

The US Federal Trade Commission has released a report that details the results of a survey of mobile apps for children.

The survey shows that neither the app stores nor the developers provide the information parents need to determine what data is being collected from their children, its security or the potential uses.

Thanks Peter. I've only just joined this group so am playing catch-up. Would you be aware of any similar reports from the UK (either from government, govt agencies or NGOs). I'm wondering whether business (ie those procuring such privacy-sapping technologies) might need some clear (non-technical) guidance in this area to minimise their non-compliance to the Data Protection Act. Do you think this is an issue??
