Who are we?

The NAT SIG is funded by Innovate UK and delivered by the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs). The NC3Rs works with the global bioscience community across disciplines and sectors to drive the discovery and application of new technologies and approaches which overcome the scientific, business and ethical limitations of current animal-based research approaches. We are an independent scientific organisation established by UK Government in 2004.

Innovate UK and NC3Rs works closely with other funders including the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Medical Research Council (MRC) to deliver the NAT vision.

What do we do?

The NAT SIG brings together researchers from across disciplines and sectors to work collaboratively on the development, application and commercialisation of new technologies and approaches to reduce and replace animal models and revolutionise the drug and chemical development process.
