Other Key Activities


The HealthTech and Medicines KTN will continue to support the development and growth of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics sector through a range of activities focussed on championing knowledge transfer for technology innovation:

  • Delivering the knowledge transfer (KT) activity associated with relevant innovation platforms*
  • Continue to build and grow a cross-disciplinary industrially led network, working with other KTNs and UK networks
  • Support specialist areas within Medical Devices and Diagnostics through dedicated Interest Groups
  • Encourage company participation in research collaboration programmes and funding mechanisms such as Industrial CASE studentships, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and European funding streams
  • Support the development of industrially engaged Centres of Excellence
  • Increase the profile of UK sector through case studies, developing a UK proposition, building international networks and helping to deliver international conferences

The KTN’s innovation platform activity includes:

  • Organising themed meetings
  • Communicating information to UK companies and academics about funding calls, including organising funding call specific events
  • Helping to facilitate consortia looking to apply for funding
  • Coordinating regional and national initiatives
  • Managing a knowledge repository
  • Managing the Innovation Platforms’ online activity
