H2020 Call for ideas on Challenge 5 pilots - workshop outcomes
H2020 DIALOGUE with EUROPE:
CLIMATE ACTION, ENVIRONMENT, RESOURCE EFFICIENCY and RAW MATERIALS 2016/2017 Workprogramme, London 26th of January.
A “Dialogue with EU” event was held in London on the 26th of January.
Objective and Activities:
The objective of the event has been to feed into a dialogue with the European Commission (EC) on the planned priority funding areas under 2016/2017 Work Programme for Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5: Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Material calls, with four thematic areas of discussion as follows.
1. Systemic eco-innovation for a circular economy
2. Climate services
3. Nature-based solutions (aimed at re-naturing cities in order to address societal challenges such as climate change, flooding etc.),
4. Water (save and improve the quality of water, including reuse and recycling of waste water, moving toward a circular economy approach)

The Cross Cutting theme for this Thematic Areas is CITY DEMONSTRATORS
During the event an interesting set of presentations on City Demonstrators in UK was delivered by four Municipalities: London, Glasgow, Peterborough and Bristol.

The Head of Unit responsible for this area at the European Commission has also attended the event, in order to provide the EU vision and to start an open dialogue with the Member States.
