The aim of LAYERS is to use MFA to produce a generic model for E-tech elements to demonstrate the value and relevance of this innovative approach for the global strategic management of mineral resources. We develop a protocol to illustrate the layers of geological and geographical occurrence of deposits to end of life of E-tech elements. LAYERS will develop and test a methodology and associated analysis framework. It can become an essential tool that links academia and industry across the world to ensure resilience of supply of critical elements with minimum carbon inputs.

We are academics from Newcastle and Exeter University but we work closely with the mining industry, manufacturers, trade organisations and consultants to ensure that LAYERS is applicabale and relevant to end-users.
