1. Register & Log in


At the top right of the Connect homepage you'll see two tabs.  The one on the left is to sign in to connect if you've previously registered, while the other tab is the link that allows you to register.

Clicking on the sign in tab takes you to the sign in page, where you simply type in your email address and password.  You also have a useful remember me option for the password that makes subsequent signing in even easier.

2. Joining the KTP Network

Once you've logged in, select the network tab at the top of the screen. You can either use the featured network icons to locate knowledge transfer partnerships, or scroll down to the bottom of the page, and in the search networks box, type KTP and click on the ‘go' button. Among other networks, the KTP Office Managers Group will appear. Click on the title and when the page appears, click on the red ‘join the group' button.

3. Creating an application form

On the KTP Office Managers Group home screen there is a section on the right hand of the screen that links to the KTP Applicants Group and this is where you will find the "Apply for KTP". Click on the ‘apply now' button. There will be a request for the name of the document. This is free form, but is probably good practice to include as a minimum, the company name, the knowledge base name. A unique identity will be issued once the form is generated. The application form will now be generated. If needed the title can be amended at a later date.  This is essentially a secure website that can only be accessed by formally invited team members.

4. Inviting someone to your form

To invite someone to your application, you'll first need to open your online form and click the ‘manage team' tab. Once you're in ‘manage team', you'll see a page with the header ‘application team'. Now on this page there's a grey button at the bottom right called ‘invite more people'. Click on this button. You will then arrive on a page with the header "Invite members". 


5. Inside an application form

Each section of the online form now has a character counter. This is approximately equivalent to the word count limit on the old version of the form, but it's generally slightly more generous than previous. As you type in your text, you will see the number of characters remaining for you to use decreasing as you type. Each time the form saves, the character count is updated. Remember, the form has an auto-save function every few seconds.

6. My Applications and Dashboard

Once you've created and saved draft KTP applications, you'll want to access them on an ongoing basis to continue to add content and to refine and develop them with your partners, and it's easy to do this. First you need to return to the Connect Innovation platform, where you should sign in by following the link you'll find at the top right of the homepage. When you've signed in successfully, the next page that opens up has a small icon showing your name at the top right. Just to the left is a dashboard button. Clicking this opens a webpage that has a series of tabs under your banner image. The last tab is ‘my applications'
