The Industrial Mathematics Knowledge Transfer Network runs several programmes facilitating interaction between industry and academia on behalf of the Technology Strategy Board.
Industrial Mathematics shorter KTP (IM-sKTP) place PhD students in industry for between 3 and 6 months in order to carry out a project involving modelling and simulation, algorithm development, technology testing or data analysis. IM sKTP offer low-cost solutions to urgent business challenges and help foster collaboration between industry and academia. Assistance is provided to companies in finding suitable academic partners.
The programme is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Technology Strategy Board.
