Webinar on Cooperative ITS Applications Description and Requirements

Cooperative ITS (C-ITS) applications are mainly based on the new standardised ad-hoc local area network (IEEE 802.11p in USA or G5 in Europe). Such communication facility enables the real time multicasting of information between vehicles (V2V) and between vehicles and road side units (V2I). Initially this technology was developed for primary road safety applications, however this information push capability can be easily extended to support other applications such as traffic management, mobility services and entertainment.

This webinar, organised by the EU-funded COMeSafety2 project, presents a number of C-ITS applications which are currently under assessment in national and European Field Operational Tests (FOT) and a study of why these applications are improved by use of free of charge powerful ad-hoc local area networks.
