Grow with Public Transport campaign from UITP in September alongside European Mobility Week

The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) has launched a campaign for more and better public transport to make cities better places to work and live.

Branded the 'All Together for Public Transport Growth' movement, UITP hopes the campaign will persuade political decision makers and citizens that public transport can play a key role in achieving sustainable growth, social cohesion and environmental protection.

Coinciding with European Mobility Week (16-22 September), cities that have signed up will be asked to display the slogan 'Grow' on and in public transport vehicles, stations, stops, websites and social media.

West Midlands (CENTRO) is, so far, the only UK city or region to sign up so far, but UITP says, more details about participating cities will be revealed in the coming weeks and a press conference will be held in Brussels on September 18 to announce the final results.

The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) is the international network for public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, scientific institutes and the public transport supply and service industry. It is a platform for worldwide cooperation, business development and the sharing of know-how between its 3,400 members from 92 countries. UITP is the global advocate of public transport and sustainable mobility, and the promoter of innovations in the sector.
