ETSI gathers engineers to test interoperability of eCall implementations in Spain next month - plus help needed for Plugtests 2015

ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, together with ERTICO, the network of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services bodies in Europe, is to hold the third eCall TESTFEST on 27 to 31 October 2014 in Vigo, Spain.

The purpose of this event is to help interoperability by identifying areas for improvements within the current standards at the earliest stage, and to speed up the process of providing products to the market.

Hosted by CTAG (Centro Tecnológico de Automoción de Galicia) eCall TESTFEST the week-long interoperability testing event is is designed for eCall In-vehicle system vendors and PSAP (public-safety answering point) systems vendors to test interoperability in approved conditions. Experts will be on hand to answer technical questions or solve interoperability issues. Additionally, compliancy and performance checking sessions will be scheduled to complement the interoperability tests.

All participants will get the opportunity to test their implementations with all other vendors during test sessions.

This activity is supported by the European Commission. The cost of attendance is €550 per company, plus a €200 (VAT excluded) participation fee for each additional participant. All participants will be requested to sign a Non-disclosure agreement here and send it back to plugtests@etsi.org.

Participants should confirm their registration by completing a questionnaire  and sending it to f.fischer@mail.ertico.com

A draft agenda of the week is available.

ETSI is looking to recruit technical expertise to support and conduct Plugtests 2015

ETSI, again in partnership with ERTICO, is also organising the fourth Plugtests event on ITS Cooperative Mobility Services, planned for March 2015.

ETSI is looking to recruit technical expertise to support and conduct this event. Experts will be required to help with:

  • the development of interoperability tests for ITS CMS;
  • technical preparation of the event;
  • technical support during the event such as scheduling and recording of results;
  • compilation of event report and proposal for future events.

The applicant should have practical experience in working with the ITS CMS technology and should be familiar with ETSI interoperability testing methodology. Working experience in interoperability testing as well as technical aspects surrounding the organisation of interoperability events would be an advantage.

Applications should be sent to plugtests@etsi.org no later than 6 October 2014. The subject of the email should be: ITS CMS – Call for expertise.
