Innovate UK is to invest up to £9 million in a competition to find collaborative R&D projects that will deliver accessible, cost-effective and easy-to-use services for transport users.
This is a two-stage competition: for the initial Integrated transport - in-field solutions competition, Innovate UK invested around £600,000 to test twelve feasibility studies that looked to demonstrate new approaches to solving traffic congestion through integration. Integrated transport: local authority solutions is now open for applications with registration open until 18 March 2015.
Innovate UK expect projects to last up to 2 years and for total costs to range between £2 million and £4 million per project.
A briefing event for potential applicants will be held in London on 20 January 2015.
KTN has launched a new _connect 'Group' to enable targeted networking around the themes of this competition - ahead of the closing date and beyond.
So, those activitiy interested in integrating local transport or simply wish to be kept informed of the competition should find it productive to join the Local Authority Solutions for Integrated Transport group.
Be seeing you there....
