Tweet for Biotech Week and help improve the visibility and positive perception of plant science/biotechnology

With Biotech Week fast approaching (6th-12th October 2014), the Green Biotech team in EuropaBio has kicked off a communications project to increase the visibility and positive perception of plant science/biotechnology across social media, in particular on Twitter. Everyone who works or studies in the field of plant sciences is invited to share their stories and experiences on Twitter and YouTube and showcase the amazing research taking place around Europe.

The EuropaBio team would appreciate your support during Biotech Week by helping them build as much awareness as possible around the campaign!

How can you help?

The best way you could do this is as follows:

  • Visit the campaign page at http://growingvoices.eu/mybiotech and help share content if you are involved in the agbiotech field or else, forward this email to contacts whom you know may be involved (infographics, videos or even using the link of the campaign page and sharing it on social media – Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin etc.)

  •  Retweet content from @GrowingVoicesEU Twitter account referring to this campaign – related content is easily recognised as it includes the campaign hashtags #mybiotech #biotechweek

  • Proactively tweet about any interesting European research in plant sciences by using the hashtags #mybiotech #biotechweek

  • Sign up to the Thunderclap - this will send out a coordinated tweet from everyone’s Twitter account during Biotech Week (www.biotechweek.org)

  • Spread the word and encourage your network to participate, and in particular any scientists you know who would be willing to record a short video with their phones  - click here for some examples.

More guidance and help is available on the campaign page http://growingvoices.eu/mybiotech.
