New call for projects by the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre

The Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) has issued a call for expressions of interest (EOI) on two topics:

 

Sustainable feed for finfish

Projects should focus on one of the following areas:

  • health effects of feeding, including gut microbiome, changes in diet and susceptibility to disease
  • sources of EPA/DHA
  • alternative protein sources, locally sourced, low environmental impact.

Deadline for applications on feed projects is 21 March 2016.

Rapid diagnostics solutions for aquaculture

Proposals should fall within three areas of research identified as top priorities for aquaculture in Scotland, broadly: 

  • indicators of health / condition
  • precursors to gill disease
  • husbandry.

To qualify for funding, projects must be industry-led.

Applications deadline is 14 March 2016.
