Yvonne Armitage - Bioeconomy Specialist

Yvonne ArmitageFollowing a degree in chemistry and PhD in microbiology and biochemistry Yvonne has spent most of her career in industrial research, developing bioprocesses and investigating the potential for the use of renewable raw materials and bio-based products.

She was a New Business Development Manager prior to joining the KTN.

Rajesh Mistry - Knowledge Transfer Manager Industrial Biotechnology

Raj has 16 years industry expertise specialising in industrial biotechnology with a particular focus on whole cell biocatalysis, fermentation, assay development and analysis. Raj has a BSc in Chemistry with Chemical Engineering, MSc in Analytical Chemistry, MBA and is a Sainsbury Management Fellow.

 

 

Amy Tayler - Knowledge Transfer Manager Synthetic Biology

Amy TaylerAmy has a BSc in Pathology and Microbiology with Study in Industry (Pfizer) and PhD in Molecular Bacteriology, both from the University of Bristol. In 2009 Amy joined the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to manage the peer review of responsive mode grant applications. Amy was also responsible for BBSRC's industrial partnership research programmes. In 2011 Amy moved to the role of business interaction manager at BBSRC to facilitate the Integrated Biorefining Research and Industry Club (IBTI Club). In 2012 Amy undertook a part-time secondment to the industrial biotechnology special interest group before joining the industrial biosciences and synthetic biology teams at the KTN in March 2013.

Alexander Henzing - Knowledge Transfer Manager Bioinformatics

Alexander has a degree in Organic Chemistry, MSc in Biological Chemistry and PhD in Cell Biology. Following post-doctoral research in proteomics of chromosomal passenger proteins, Alexander became director of a mass spectrometry facility. From here Alexander moved to the Experimental Cancer Medicine centre, where as research manager he facilitated translational cancer research and later stratified medicine, whilst studying part-time for an MBA. Alexander then joined a health informatics company first as clinical programme manager and later as product manager of research analytics before joining the KTN in July 2014.

Caroline Channing - Marketing 

Caroline ChanningCaroline coordinates communications and marketing activities across the Agri-Food and Biosciences & Biotechnology communities. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and Biology, an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare, and has 14 years of experience in Bioscience and Agri-Food research.
