Free NIBB sponsored IB Skills conference & workshop ‘for early career people’, 18-19 May 2016, Manchester

A group of BBSRC Networks in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (NIBB) are holding a Career Development Workshop for Early Career NIBB Members on 18-19 May 2016 in Manchester.

The participating NIBB are offering free places to postdocs and PhD students, space permitting.

This event is also an opportunity for industry partners to access the emerging talent from the research base, promote IB as a future career, as well as possibly provide some softer skills training (e.g.: how to write a business plan, leadership, IP etc).

If KTN's industry members wish to contribute, they can contact either Yvonne Armitage (yvonne.armitage@ktn-uk.org) or Jenny Clucas at Cogent (jenny.clucas@cogent-ssc.com).

The participating BBSRC NIBB are:

  • Biocatnet: Network in Biocatalyst Discovery, Development and Scale-Up
  • C1NET: Chemicals from C1 Gas
  • CBMNet: Crossing biological membranes
  • FoodWasteNet: Food Processing Waste and By-Products Utilisation Network
  • HVCfP: High Value Chemicals from Plants Network
  • LBNet: Lignocellulosic Biorefinery Network
  • Metals in Biology: The elements of Biotechnology and Bioenergy
  • P2P: A Network of Integrated Technologies: Plants to Products
