Recovering Valuable Materials from Waste – Presentations and Recording Now Available

Waste is a hot topic – 170 people registered to attend the Innovate UK and KTN Information and Brokerage Event for the Innovate UK and EPSRC Recovering Valuable Materials from Waste Event.  The whole supply chain including designers, collectors, reprocessors and manufacturers was represented, making new connections and building strong collaborations.

Innovate UK provided detailed guidance on the competition and how to apply; a video recording of their presentations is now available.

A panel of leaders in the field including Veolia, Suez and Re:Sourcing UK gave their perspective on the challenges and opportunities for the sector.  Previous competition winners Axion Polymers and Valueform gave shrewd insights on how to apply and deliver a successful project and the KTN provided advice on how to develop a strong proposal and the support available.  All the presentations can be downloaded here.

Networking does not stop after the event – if you are still looking for collaborators then join the competition group to participate in the discussion board.

As your ideas progress, please get in touch.  The KTN can provide free support with partner searching, support tools and reviewing your proposal.

1 person has had something to say so far

Catherine,
No activity since January 2015? Has this group ceased to exist?

I've been trying to start a thread on the discussion group but it's impossible, it sounds like a good idea and I'm trying to get help on a precious metal waste product recovery idea.
As an engineer I've made a machine to separate the containers from the contents which have the metal but as all inventors I've run out of cash. The whole innovateUK scene is not inventor friendly and over many years I've blogged about this but to no avail.
I wondered if a lady in charge might change the stagnation but alas most groups seem to have died completely.
