Ninety percent of app downloads are free

When given the choice between paying for an app which gets rids of ads and getting a free version which contains them, consumers regularly choose the free option, according to a survey from app analytics company Flurry.
Past consumer surveys had found that the majority of users hate seeing ads on their smartphones and tablets but this, latest study turns that research on its head and finds that, even if a paid app does not have a free or LITE version, there will always be a similar free app for consumers to choose. 
It’s also an indication that the trend is increasing, with around 80 per cent of 'downloaders' on iOS choosing free apps in 2010 - 2012, this  increased to 90 per cent in 2013.
