KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from ICT to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Global Business Summit on ICT: Virtual Platform to go LIVE

The ICT KTN and UK Trade and Investment will present a unique opportunity for thought leadership discussion and the development of strong global partnerships for future growth at British Business Embassy ICT Day on the 3rd August 2012. For those unable to attend, a new virtual platform will ensure they don't miss these important proceedings.

The programme focuses on areas including the delivery of the connected Olympics as well as sessions themed around: Future Internet - Vision & Innovation;  Broadband; Cloud & SaaS; Digital Innovation; Smart Infrastructure; Video, Image Recognition & Augmented Reality and Next Generation Mobility.  Sessions will feature speakers from major global organisations and innovative SMEs. There is also an inspiring technology showcase which includes around 100 leading SMEs and research organisations.

The event takes place at Lancaster House in London, where the British Business Embassy - the centerpiece of the UK's international business programme during the Games - was launched by the Prime Minister this week. But, for those unable to attend the limited capacity venue, events can be accessed, on the day, through a virtual experience platform, provided by 6 Connex. Please, ASAP, register your interest in participating here: https://ukti.6connex.com/portal/globalICTsummitUK/login

As well as access to a Best of British technology showcase of around 100 online exhibitors, the platform provides an opportunity for companies, globally, to engage in B2B discussions. It enables delegates to interact with summit sessions and engage in moderated chat discussions. The virtual platform can be accessed not only from the British Business Embassy, but from any other location in the world. Key functions include the ability to message others and chat by video, voice and text – with text messages being automatically translated into the language of choice.

The virtual platform is only available from the 3 August, and for 6 months thereafter, and delegate registration will be restricted, although a few places are still available. The capacity limit, during the 3 August event, is to ensure a quality experience for all delegates. We apologies, in advance, as there may be occasions when you are unable to login due to high demand.

To view the site, delegates will need to have Flash downloaded, have popup blockers disabled and have a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. At least a 1.4mbps connection to the internet is required to make

the most of the experience.

If you are unable to secure a place on the 6Connex platform you will still be able to watch Summit Sessions online:

Long Gallery sessions available on Youtube www.youtube.com/user/uktiweb

Music Room & State Drawing Room sessions can be viewed live through IET.tv www.theiet.org/sectors/british-business-embassy

The ICT KTN will also be tweeting throughout and you can follow on Twitter:
