The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from ICT to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.


The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

£1.5m Newton Fund competition now open: Agri-food innovation in Turkey

Innovate UK is to invest up to £1.5 million for UK participants developing innovative solutions to challenges within the agri-food sector in Turkey, and there are elements in the scope which may of interest for ICT and digital organisations.
The Agri-Food Innovation in Turkey competition is run in partnership with the Newton-Kâtip Çelebi Fund. A UK business must lead the project and must work with at least one Turkey-based business. Innovate UK's Turkish funding partner TÜBİTAK will fund Turkish project partners.
One of the scoping areas is to improve the agricultural productivity of small and medium sized-farmers in Turkey by upgrading agricultural technology. Proposals can include software engineering and information technologies, where they represent an essential component of an engineering project.
UK applicants must register by noon on 14th September 2016, one week before the application deadline of 22nd September 2016.
Applicant Briefing Webinar, 17th May
To help potential UK and Turkish applicants find out more about the competition, Innovate UK is holding an applicant briefing webinar at 10:30 UK time (12:30 Turkey time) on Tuesday 17th May. Registration for the webinar closes at 17:00 UK time on Friday 13th May.
The webinar will cover an introduction to the Newton Fund, scope of the competition, application process and documents including funding criteria, and next steps following the submission of applications.

Meeting Mojo Online Partnering Tool
To facilitate the partnership of UK and Turkish organisations, KTN is hosting Meeting Mojo, an online database which has been created specifically for this competition. It allows all interested applicants, from both UK and Turkish, to register and add a profile. You can then search and contact partners to discuss and determine whether you are a good match to apply as a project team for grant funding.
