The Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) programme is a great opportunity for UK players to exploit the latest Space-based services including Earth Observation, satellite communications and satellite navigation. This European Space Agency (ESA) programme is strongly supported by Innovate UK (formerly the Technology Strategy Board): in fact the UK is the largest contributor, contributing €30m of the €80m budget.
UK companies are already having success developing IAP projects funded by ESA, with seven such projects already underway, involving fourteen UK suppliers and seven major user organisations across a wide variety of industry sectors. The first two UK based IAP projects have already spawned commercial services. Many more projects involving UK players are currently going through the IAP project approval process. Below are links to some examples of current IAP projects:
- Sustainable satellite-enabled telemedicine services for the commercial aviation market.
- IRISS (railways)
- FlySafe (bird strikes)
- Civil Resilience
Our platform gives UK players an insight into what IAP programmes are currently ongoing in the UK and Europe, and the opportunities available.
