Need to compile a business plan for
medtech or other health research funding?

Commercialising innovative health and medical research can be difficult. The Invention for Innovation (i4i) Life Sciences Accelerator programme has been established to help.

The i4i Life Sciences Accelerator programme has been developed by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and experienced medtech industry experts to help researchers who are applying for funding to improve their chances of success through well-crafted applications and business plans.

It provides skills, tools and techniques needed to define your proposition and put together thorough well-crafted plans and applications.  The intensive two-part residential course comprises a mixture of presentations, workshops and break-out sessions led by experts with direct experience of owning, growing and managing medtech businesses.

Who should attend?
Small companies, academics and clinicians applying to i4i or other health research funding programmes, or seeking investment to develop prototype medical technologies.

When is the next session?
The next i4i Life Sciences Accelerator programme will take place over four days and one evening on the following dates:

  • evening of Tuesday 5 February to Thursday 7 February and from Tuesday 12 March to Wednesday 13 March 2013-  Open for bookings now!
  • evening of  Tuesday 23 April to Thursday 25 April and Monday 20 May to Tuesday 21 May 2013
  • evening of Wednesday 9 October to Friday 11 October and Monday 11 November to Tuesday 12 November 2013.

Programme fees and booking
The i4i Life Sciences Accelerator programme costs £1750 (plus VAT) per participant. This cost includes all food and accomodation for the duration of the course. If you are in an established small business, you may be eligible for grant funding: match-up funding of up to £2,000 per person is available for leadership development training for companies eligible for support through GrowthAccelerator.
