Japanese Pharmaceutical Industry and Opportunities
The Life Sciences Team, UK Trade & Investment in Japan, is delighted to invite you to register for a free online seminar live from Japan on the Japanese Pharmaceutical Industry and Opportunities
This webinar offers an invaluable opportunity to learn about the current Japanese pharmaceutical industry and your own business opportunity with unique insights from the Japanese biotech/pharmaceutical specialist, Mr Mitsuru Miyata of Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (See profile below).
Japan is the world’s 2nd largest pharmaceutical market with sales of £68 billion in 2010. With Japan’s ageing population accounting for approximately 24% of the country’s 128 million population, and over 30 million Japanese over the age of 65 years old, the number of noncommunicable diseases is expected to rise, as too is the government’s already high health expenditure (£315 billion in 2011).
The Japanese government's 'Strategy for the Rebirth of Japan' has prioritised the development of new drugs as well as reducing drug approval times. Amid this favourable political environment and the worrying patent cliff problem, Japanese pharmaceutical companies are urgently looking for innovative drug development partners under a concept of “Open Innovation”.
This webinar will provide you with information on the latest developments within the Japanese pharmaceutical industry and highlight where opportunities exist in terms of joint development, licensing and more.
If you are interested in doing business with Japan, please don’t miss this webinar and register by clicking the button or through the URL below by Monday 5th November. This event is open to all UK based companies.
