Vaccines - Getting early stage products into development and manufacture

The HealthTech and Medicines KTN (Health KTN) in partnership with the Biosciences KTN and UCL EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Emergent Macromolecular Therapies are pleased to announce that we are running a technical meeting on vaccines which will focus on current and future challenges and opportunities in this field.

The event aims to bring together communities from across both human and animal health, who are interested and involved in research, development and manufacturing to explore common themes and learnings from driving early stage products through the development and manufacturing chain. Themes that will be explored in the meeting include how vaccines and relevant technologies are produced in rapid response to existing and emergent pandemic disease threats and the learnings from across human and animal health sectors.

The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Macromolecular Therapies provides an international lead in enhancing fundamentally the way in which new biomolecules and processes are developed for the manufacture and delivery to the patient.

The Biosciences KTN and the Health KTN are funded by the Technology Strategy Board and cover knowledge transfer and the promotion of innovation in business in all aspects of the life sciences. The Health KTN primarily covers all aspects of human healthcare including the Medical Biotechnology, Medical Technology, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical sectors.

The Biosciences KTN focuses on Industrial bioscience; Animal breeding and animal health; Plants and crops; and Food technology and manufacture. Both KTN’s assist industry in relevant areas including manufacturing and bioprocessing, diagnostic methodologies, vaccine development, therapeutic regimes and integrated disease control strategies to protect and improve human and animal health.

The agenda is being finalised and will be published soon.
