Joint meeting of the Bioprocessing for Advanced Therapies Group and the amc

The HealthTech and Medicines KTN (Health KTN) in partnership with the Advanced Therapies Manufacturing Community (amc) are pleased to invite you to a workshop event to allow you explore the challenges for manufacturing and testing of advanced therapies for clinical trials. The meeting is kindly being hosted by the University of Birmingham at their CPD facility, with an opportunity in the afternoon to tour their Advanced Therapies Facility.

The Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) Manufacturing Community (amc) was formed in September 2010 as a community of best practice for the GMP manufacture of cellular therapies in the UK. The community originated in response to the anticipated demand for manufacturing capability as the UK increases its throughput of successful cell therapies. This is the sixth of the amc’s technical meetings, and the second in partnership with the Health KTN’s Bioprocessing for Advanced Therapies Group.

Regenerative medicine is a key priority area for the Health KTN, as it is at the cutting edge of 21st Century biological medicines that have the potential to revolutionise the treatment of patients. The Bioprocessing for Advanced Therapies Group within the KTN aims to educate and develop the community in new emerging biological therapies such as stem cells, gene therapy and tissue engineering. The Group has links to related networks across the UK and within other KTNs, and promotes a broad vision of the sector through the exchange of knowledge between academia (scientists and engineers), regenerative medicine companies, biologics companies, suppliers and regulators.

The agenda for the joint meeting is being finalised and will include a series of talks, networking opportunities, breakout sessions and the opportunity for a facility tour.

The event is free to attend. Places are limited and you are advised to register your interest as soon as possible.
