The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Defence Security to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

 

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

Meet Innovate UK - Business Breakfast Event

Innovate UK will be visiting Edinburgh on Wednesday 10th June to meet and talk with businesses in Scotland about innovation and to explain how the support that it offers can help you.

Innovate UK (the new name for the Technology Strategy Board), work’s closely with the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and others to stimulate and support business-led innovation in Scotland. It provides a wide range of support and funding opportunities to help businesses to address and solve their specific innovation needs and challenges and to enter new markets.

This breakfast event is open to all businesses, large and small and is free to attend. It will provide a brief overview of Innovate UK’s strategy and the support that it offers, including an update from the Knowledge Transfer Network’s CEO Chris Warkup, who will explain how our network (part of the Innovate UK family) can connect people, to speed up innovation, solve problems and find markets for new ideas. There will be the chance to ask questions and to meet and talk in person with the leaders of Innovate UK’s technology areas and with Chris.

A light breakfast will be available from 8.00 am onwards and the event itself will start at 8.30 am sharp.

The main sectors and technology areas Innovate UK support include Agriculture and Food, Digital Economy, Enabling Technologies, Energy, Health+care, High Value Manufacturing, Creative Industries, Space, Sustainability, Transport plus new and emerging technologies, and this event will be of real interest to any business operating in or working with any of these.
