KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Defence Security to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Call for Participants for Partnership Brokering Visit to China

China-UK Newton Fund Research & Innovation Bridges Competition
Call for Participants for Partnership Brokering Visit to China
Deadline for applications: GMT 5:00pm Tuesday 15 December 2015
Innovate UK, the Research Councils UK (RCUK) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) of the People’s Republic of China are investing up to £16 million in a Newton Fund Research and Innovation Bridges (R&I Bridges) in collaborative industrial research and development projects to stimulate new innovation and solutions to the societal challenges that China is facing within the areas of:
  • Agri-food & food
  • Energy
  • Healthcare
  • Urbanisation
This Newton Fund competition will help UK industry and research organisations to form collaborative partnerships with China counterparts and translate the outputs of excellent research into new solutions to the four in-scope challenge areas, specifically commercial products, processes and services fit for the Chinese market.

To help UK and Chinese participants interested in this competition to meet and develop collaborative partnerships, the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) on behalf of Innovate UK and MoST, is organising a visit for UK stakeholders to China during the tentative dates between 16 to 24 January 2016, inclusive of travel time. This visit will focus on the healthcare and urbanisation sectors only.
Our objective is to take a group of approximately 20 UK stakeholders over to the Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces and provide sufficient opportunity for these stakeholders to identify and meet with potential Chinese partners, and take forward discussions on collaborations. We also aim to give UK stakeholders a good appreciation of the challenges that China faces first-hand and the context of what it means to work with counterparts in China.
Full details of this Call for participants can be found HERE.
