KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

 

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Defence Security to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

 

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

2015 Call for Interactive Sessions and Workshops

The AAL Forum is the yearly event of the AAL Programme. Active participation and interaction between the forum attendees is key in the 2015 AAL Forum program.

In 2015 we aim to create a vibrant interactive event, building on the creativity and the commitment of the AAL community.  Through this call for interactive sessions & workshops, we invite the AAL community to contribute to the AAL Forum by organising interactive sessions and workshops.

AAL forum invite you to send in your proposals for the design and the organization of the interactive sessions and/or workshops: from developing a programme and identifying all stakeholders involved to describing the expected outcomes and keeping in touch with the AAL Forum programme committee to make sure that all session information are available online.

THEMATIC AREAS

Seven thematic areas were identified by the AAL Forum programme committee as the pillars of the 2015 edition of the AAL Forum. All proposals have to belong in one of these thematic areas.

The thematic areas are:

  1. Rolling out field trials
  2. Connecting supply and demand
  3. Matching older adults’ aspirations
  4. Education and training as fertilizers for AAL development and uptake
  5. The future of AAL
  6. Interoperability resolved
  7. Treasures on the shelves

PROPOSALS

All proposals should clearly indicate the following:

  • Rationale & Objectives
  • Programme/Method
  • Indicative number and type of speakers or experts
  • How you envisage to achieve interactivity with the participants
  • Name of session chair/workshop leader

SELECTION CRITERIA

The main criteria for the selection of proposals are as follows:

  • Clear goals and expected outcomes
  • Interactivity (active involvement of the participants for at least 1/3 of the overall duration of the session)
  • Quality and novelty of the concept proposal

Selected proposals can be put forward for a time slot of 1.5 hours, with a maximum of two time slots.

The session coordinator will be held responsible for the timely communication of all information regarding the content and the name of the speakers/experts to the AAL Forum organizers. Furthermore, each session coordinator should make sure  that a summary of the session is available and that all presentations are made available in the website after the AAL Forum.
