Newcastle Advancing the Commercial Applications of Graphene Briefing Report

The final briefing event for Innovate UK and EPSRC’s funding competition: Advancing the Commercial Applications of Graphene, was held on 7th October 2015, in Newcastle with over 40 delegates in attendance.


Steve Fletcher from KTN opened and ran the event with introductions of both the Knowledge Transfer Network and the Graphene Special Interest Group (SIG). 


Introducing the competition briefing was Lien Ngo from Innovate UK, who defined and discussed the competition scope, emphasising the need for commercial potential whilst being multi functional, and providing a number of examples. 


The briefing event also featured presentations with academia and industry experts:

Tom Taylor – CPI


Following networking opportunities, the afternoon gave delegates the opportunity to discuss and share challenges, as well as offering a platform in which they were able to pitch their ideas.
