Flexible Manufacturing, UK Response to Globalised Competition

Making More in the UK and Making it Better

The Flexible Manufacturing SIG (FM SIG) was tasked with establishing UK capability in the fields of flexible, adaptive manufacturing and plug and play manufacturing, to identify innovation opportunities and recommend areas where government investment would provide the greatest impact.

This free event will:

  • Disseminate the findings of the FM SIG and recommendations for future investment.
  • Present a number of case studies on the benefits from adopting a flexible manufacturing approach.

In anticipation of the launch of a Technology Strategy Board competition on Flexible Manufacturing as indicated in their Delivery Plan 2014/15, the afternoon session will be an opportunity to learn more about this upcoming collaborative R&D competition, followed by networking session with pitches and partnership building.
