Practical OLED Fabrication Training Course

The COLAE (Commercialising Organic and Large Area Electronics) project together with CPI is offering a practical training course on Organic Light‐Emitting Diode (OLED) Fabrication. This will provide a thorough overview of the various printing and coating techniques used to manufacture OLED devices, along with explaining their benefits and issues. Trainees will also see some of these methods in action on an OLED pilot manufacturing line. Accompanying the hands‐on work will be theoretical training on the physics and chemistry of OLED devices, and methods to characterize and optimize performance.

 

The course will have a strong practical element in one of Europe’s leading research facilities, with much of the time spent on the pilot line learning how to fabricate OLEDs on production‐relevant tools. Through the course, participants will have access to state of the art laboratories and processing equipment at CPI’s UK National Printable Electronics Centre.

Due to the high level of practical work, participation will be limited to a maximum of 10 persons, so early registration is suggested. The target audience for the course is primarily industrial researchers, product developers, process engineers, and technical designers looking to bring OLED to a new wave of innovative products.

About COLAE training modules

This course forms part of the OLAE practical training course which consists of five key modules covering the main OLAE devices and process: OLEDs, OPV, OLAE production technologies, organic TFTs and Smart Systems Integration. Participants can select any combination of modules to meet their training needs. Through the course, participants will have access to state of the art OLAE laboratories and processing equipment at Europe’s leading research institutes as well as gaining an understanding of the key OLAE technologies.

The COLAE project is a coordination and support action in the FP7 programme involving 17 leading European OLAE research centres which aims to speed up the commercialisation and adoption of OLAE technologies by promoting collaboration between industry clusters throughout Europe.
