The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Electronics, Sensors, Photonics to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

 

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

Developers...take part in the Space App Camp!

Are you an innovative developer from Europe with experience in app development? Then take your chance and apply to spend one week at the European Space Agency (ESA) near Amsterdam between 4 and 12 May 2014.

The EU funded project S2G2M2 is inviting 20 developers to ESA's ESTEC location in Noordwijk (including travel expenses and accommodation) - and you can be one of them! Whether you are selected for the App Camp will depend on the creativity of your previous works with regard to content, usability, design, and the underlying business concepts, so show us the best apps you have developed so far.

Seize the opportunity to work with like-minded people, learn how to integrate satellite data into your mobile applications, and gain insight into ESA's work.

During the Space App Camp you will be provided with access to satellite data for the development of mobile applications (Android and iOS) in predefined categories. The Space App Camp aims at resulting in working app prototypes, which integrate EGNOS and Copernicus data. In addition a business concept for the application shall be developed.

You don't need any experience in integrating such data to take part in the Space App Camp. Participants will be able to choose their preferred category, and can apply either as teams of two or as teams of four.

The winning team will be selected by a jury of ESA, EC and consortium representatives on the final day of the Space App Camp.
