KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Electronics, Sensors, Photonics to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

From F1, to Luxury Cars, to Advances for Smarter Healthcare

Tuesday, March 24 2015 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (GMT)

DTFC, Didcot, United Kingdom

Holistic health-monitoring is not just a mantra but a functional necessity as we face the challenge of paying for healthcare provision for a fast-growing ageing population, with an increasing average lifespan and improved independent living targets. The NHS system is currently struggling to meet operating costs whilst continuing to improve patient care and manage these on-going challenges.

To address this need, Medilink UK is bringing together giants from the motorsport, automotive and medtech industries at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. The focus will be on remote monitoring, data acquisition, better analytics and easy to use data monitoring.

Keynote talks will be delivered by Williams Advanced Engineering, Magna, Tata Technology, Leica Biosystems and Siemens. These global business leaders come together to share their leading edge innovation and outline the challenges in their continual drive for excellence.

The event will also host two exhibitions, focusing on early stage (morning) or mature stage (afternoon) technologies that could have application in the automotive and/or medtech industries. Exhibitors are guaranteed a short ‘speed-date’ with the key businesses who are supporting the event, whilst all delegates will have the opportunity to network with other attendees throughout the day at breakfast and lunch.

This event is for SMEs and corporate companies from the automotive, motorsport, medtech and healthcare industries, and for start-ups and researchers from academic and healthcare organisations, who want to learn about and share their innovations and challenges, and explore possibilities for applications between the sectors.

SME Opportunity

The KTN is happy to confirm that we will be providing the opportunity for 4 SMEs to exhibit at this partnering event (event details below), with conference fees paid for by the KTN. As exhibitors, you will be guaranteed a short ‘speed-date’ with the key businesses who are supporting the event, as well as the opportunity to network with other delegates throughout the day.

If you are an SME working in the automotive, motorsport, medtech or healthcare industry and would and would like the opportunity to exhibit for free at this event, please contact:
