EEC SIG "Annual" Event

The next event organised by the EEC SIG will take place on the 20th March in Bristol. The aim is to, once again, bring together industrialists and researchers in the field of Energy Efficient Computing and related technologies.

There will be presentations from many of the project groups who are currently running Technology Strategy Board Feasibility Studies including:

  • spEEDO -  Energy Efficiency through Debug suppOrt - UltraSoC Technologies Ltd
  • GREENS - Global Register for Energy Efficient Numerical Simulation - Zenotech Ltd
  • MAGEEC - MAchine Guided Energy Efficient Compilation - Embecosm Limited
  • NOMAD - Non-standard Operand Mechanisms Architecture Demonstrator - Cybula Ltd
  • Energy-Efficiency Tools For High-Performance Multi- and Many-core Applications - Allinea Software Ltd
  • EEMS - Energy Efficient Management System - Xyratex Ltd

There will be presentations from some of the EU funded projects within this sector.

There are speakers giving industry updates from:

  • Intel
  • Nvidia
  • Iceotope

There will also be a range of demonstrations available during the breaks - including details of the recent workshop on EEC at FOSDEM.

cfms (www.cfms.org.uk) have offered to host the event at their facilities in Bristol and will be able to provide tours of their facility and the work they undertake. Including projects such as the bloodhound simulation for schools - see students-design-and-race-virtual-land-speed-record-cars
