DECC Wetland Biomass to Bioenergy Demonstrations

On the 29th and 30th January 2014 AB Systems, in collaboration with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the Environmental Sustainability KTN and Wetland Managers consortium held the first of four ‘Wetland Biomass to Bioenergy’ demonstrations in Somerset.

The event was based at Ashcott in Somerset, with site visits to Ham Wall RSPB Reserve and Lilac Farm. AB Systems demonstrated their newly developed method of harvesting using the Pisten Bully and Kemp header, AgBagging systems for drying and storage, together with mobile briquetting for conversion into an energy product. Both days were very well attended, with a good cross-section of participants, including representatives from nature conservation organisations, farming and other industry, such as the Co-operative Group and South Somerset District Council.

The presentations from the morning session can be viewed at the links below
