We're hiring - Knowledge Transfer Manager (Design Service)

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is expanding its design team. We have an opening for a designer with a strategic or service design background, who is looking to make a difference to UK innovation.
We are looking for a service or strategic designer who can personify key design attributes: communicating with clarity and vision, applying a creative, problem-solving mentality, collaborating across disparate communities and bringing a people-focused approach to respond to challenges across a variety of different sectors and industries.
KTN is the UK’s Innovation Network, established by Innovate UK (formally the Technology Strategy Board) to build better links between science, creativity and business. We connect people to speed up innovation, solve problems and find markets for new ideas in order to create sustainable economic value for UK plc.
KTN has established a programme to build capacity of UK businesses to utilise design in innovation, and raise awareness of the value of human centred design. KTN’s business plan recognises that: “Earlier involvement of design in the innovation process would be hugely beneficial in helping deliver better technologies more likely to succeed in the marketplace.”
KTN’s design programme will build capacity across the organisation to:
  • Enable innovators to understand the benefits of design in innovation
  • Support collaboration between technology innovators and designers
  • Utilise design approaches and designers to develop innovation services
In addition to design activities across KTN, the programme will initially focus on two Innovate UK priority areas: High Value Manufacturing and Urban Living.
