D4FC 2010 Factsheet 4 - Ellingham Primary School

Factsheet 4 from the projects funded in the 2010 first round of the Technology Strategy Board Design for future climate compeition has been uploaded and can be accessed here.

The expansion of the school is to provide one additional form of entry through the demolition of the existing school and reconstruction of a new building. The basis for the design of the new school building is that the school expansion should not limit the future use of the school and its grounds. Construction of the new building has been located and phased to minimise disruption to the school teaching session. The proposals was created in consultation with the school stakeholders including teachers and staff as well as the local community, students and parents, and co-ordinated with the nearby SEN school and the neighbouring community college. The environmental brief is to achieve BREEAM very good status.
