Presentations are now available from the MOD SBRI call KTN LAUNCH EVENT, which took place on Tues 14 July 2015.
This was a really popular event, we received a lot if interest and unfortuntately not everyone who wanted to attend was allocated a place. Keep checking this site for updates as there will be webinars on each of the three calls. In the meantime, we wanted to make sure all of the presentation material was made available as soon as possible.

3 SBRI calls for research funding were launched in June 2015 by Defence Equipment and Support, part of the MOD. A briefing event, hosted by KTN, took place at the Ambassadors Hotel in London, to provide an opportunity to hear from the competition organisers and to network with ohter interested parties.
In total, £3m worth of MOD cash is available across all three projects for Phase 1 of the programme. The 3 calls are as follows:
Enhanced Individual Protective Equipment (E-IPE)
This MOD call seeks innovative technologies, materials, designs or concepts to optimise Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) deployed today in harsh, hostile and toxic environments.
The ability to operate in harsh, hostile and toxic environments, whilst maintaining operational effectiveness is an enduring challenge. The overall aim is to provide fit, form and function. That is, provide the user with IPE that is comfortable to wear whilst also ensuring the user is able to operate safely, effectively and efficiently; whether this is on land, sea or in the air (or a combination of these).
Fuels and Lubricants: Reducing Military Asset Cost of Ownership
There is a need to improve the energy consumption of UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) military assets. This MOD call seeks proposals for novel ideas to reduce the cost of ownership of military assets through innovative approaches to fuel and lubrication use.
The primary goal for this research is to meet reductions in operational energy usage targets. A secondary goal is to improve mechanical operation and maintenance techniques through smarter lubricant and fuel use.
Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE)
This MOD call seeks innovative technologies, concepts and solutions to optimise NDE capabilities. We are particularly interested in compact, portable and military deployable non-destructive evaluation capabilities.
