Horizon 2020 Creative Industries, Digital Economy and Design Funding
The Horizon 2020 programme is the major funding opportunity for research and innovation initiatives across Europe running up until 2020. The size of the programme is considerable and in 2015 there was nearly 600 million Euros available.
There is a strong emphasis in the programme on creative industries, design and digital technologies, and the KTN will be working to help make sure that UK creative, digital and design businesses have a good awareness of specific funding calls as well as more general opportunities to do innovation work across Europe.

- Societal Challenges
The Horizon 2020 work programmes for 2016-17 have now been published by the European Commission.
Funding opportunities under Horizon 2020 are contained in bi-annual work programmes, which set out the large majority of support which is available. The work programmes are prepared by the European Commission through a process which integrates EU policy objectives into the priority setting. These new 2016-17 work-plans include a higher level of calls relevant to the creative, digital and design sectors than previously in thematic areas which are of priority in the UK. You can access the work programmes here.
